WATTS 2.0 – Patterns Quick Tutorial

Hello, my name is Donnie. I'm the tutorial sloth. You may know me from such places as your app and pretty much any Zoo in any City on the planet, because I am cute and fun to watch. This video series is designed to show you all the basics of the Watts Lights App. So, follow along and watch twice to become a mega Watts App controlling maniac. On the top of the screen you will see the animations moving. You can use the arrows or long press on the word and you can scroll the list. Animations are used to enhance your color patterns selected using the hexagon that I will refer to in the future as a pixel. Animations are super fun to use. Take some time scrolling through each one and make sure you pick your favorites. I especially enjoy the chase patterns. Next up we have the pixels. You can add or subtract and change colors. Long press each pixel for extra control. Black pixels mean the color is off. Use the slider below the color wheel to add color back. Use black pixels to give patterns space. Using the color wheel you can select any color you can imagine for best results, watch the lights on your house as you shift colors to get the perfect hue. There are endless patterns and many occasions you can use the lights. From game day to your kid's birthday, or even my birthday. You can add up to 12 pixels in a pattern and you are able to select any color of the rainbow. Our app features four screens designed to push the light design limits. We will even let you just key in the hex code you are also able to save your own custom colors FYI my favorite color is purple just long press on any customizable pixel and work your light magic. The WATTS 2.0 Pattern Screen allows you to make very quick, dynamic color patterns on your home in seconds.

We provide multiple different ways to control your colors with a simple-to-use color wheel, RGB sliders, pre-built color palettes (including your own favorite colors), HEX codes, and even a color randomizer.

This is the primary screen of the app, once you connect to your controller. This screen allows for up to 12 colors in your pattern. By then setting the animation at the top of the screen, you can watch your same pattern work in various ways. Every animation uses the color pattern that you have selected. For example, if you have 2 colors (the hexagons) set to be RED and BLUE, if your animation is set to SOLID you will see the red and blue lights repeated across your lights. When you switch the animation to CHASE, it will still use the same colors and now move that color pattern across the house.

While some animations are a bit more unique, such as FIREWORKS, they will still use the same color pattern that you have set. For FIREWORKS, it will run a white light across the house, and then explode into a fun FIREWORKS-like display using your color pattern.

This screen also allows you to get into brightness control, both on the individual color, as well as across the entire string of lights.

For each animation, you can also control speed and intensity. Speed is how fast the animation will run and intensity is how robust the animation is. For example, using the same example of the FIREWORKS animation, INTENSITY will determine how big/widespread the explosion of color is.

This screen also allows you to save your current pattern and animation combination to a preset. This allows you to save your settings for quick access at any time, or to share with friends, family, and neighbors.

Through this screen, you can also have quick access to more advanced settings like SEGMENTS.
